Connect Your PayPal Pro Account
Connect your organization's PayPal Pro account to allow your members to pay by credit or debit card while making a payment through AMO. Payments through PayPal Pro can be used for purchases including events, membership, the online store, donation, or a generic invoice. Members will never be taken over to the PayPal site but will stay on the same page as their registration, creating a seamless checkout process.
Before You Begin
You'll need to create an API signature, and have your API Username and API Password ready.
To create an API signature:
- Login to your organization's PayPal business account.
- For live credentials, login to your PayPal business account at www.paypal.com.
- For test credentials, login to the PayPal sandbox at www.sandbox.paypal.com with a sandbox business account.
- Click the settings icon at the top of your PayPal account page and then click "Account Settings."
- On the Account Access page, click "Update" for the API access item.
- In the NVP/SOAP API Integration (Classic) section, click "Manage API Credentials"
- Note: If you have already generated an API signature, clicking "Manage API Credentials" displays the signature information. If you must generate an API signature, click "Remove" to delete the existing API signature.
- Select Request API signature.
- Click "Agree and Submit" to save changes.
Link Your Account
Once you have your API signature, API username, and API password, navigate within AMO to Financial Information > Credit Card Settings.
- Select PayPal Website Payments Pro – API from the dropdown menu.
- Match up the presented fields as follows:
- AMO Field: Account Login = PayPal Field: API Username
- AMO Field: Account Password = PayPal Field: API Password
- Type: "Paypal" (exactly as typed here without the quotation marks) into the Partner Field
- AMO Field: Signature = PayPal Field: Signature
- Click "Update Credit Card Settings" to save changes.
