Add/Edit a Priority Code


Create priority codes to give event attendees percentage or dollar-amount discounts on event registration fees.

(We recommend reviewing "Event Management: Getting Started" and "Create an Event" for preliminary information on events before continuing below.)

To create a priority code, go to Event Management > Events.

  1. Select the pencil icon to the left of the event record to be edited.

  2. Select the Activities tab, then "Priority Codes" from the drop-down menu; the list will display below.

  3. Select the green "Add Record" button at the top-left of the table; a form will display.
  • To edit an existing priority code, intead select the pencil icon to the left of the priority code record to be edited; the full form will display.

  1. Fill out the form fields:
  • Priority Code
    •  The "promotional code" that will enable the discount; can be either a word/abbreviation or something randomly generated.
  • Discount Type
    • Select either "Dollar Discount" or "Percentage Discount."
    • (This field may display after Discount Amount; either way, both must be set.)
  • Discount Amount
    • If you selected "Dollar Discount," this value will be read as a dollar amount, including two decimal places for cents.
    • If you selected "Percentage Discount," this value will be read as a whole-number percentage—values with decimals will be rounded to the nearest whole number.
  • Maximum Uses
    • Enter a numerical value to limit how many times the priority code can be used for this event; leave blank to allow unlimited uses.
  • Description
    • Priority codes are used as a discount for an event registration. One important thing to note is that if multiple types of registrations are selected at the same time, the priority code will be applied to all registrations.

  1. Select Add Priority Code to save changes. 

Once a priority code has been added, members who have been provided the priority code can enter it into the corresponding field during registration.
