Create an Event
(We recommend reviewing "Add Event Type" before continuing below.)
To create a new event, go to Event Management > Events.
- Select the green "Add Record" button; a new page will display.
- Select an option from the Select How You Would Like to Add This Eventdrop-down menu. For this example, we'll select "Create Event From Scratch."
- If you select "Replicate An Existing Event," you'll be prompted to choose an event to replicate, and a copy will be created with the text "REPLICATED" following the Event Name. You can edit the new event from there.
- If you select "Replicate An Existing Event," you'll be prompted to choose an event to replicate, and a copy will be created with the text "REPLICATED" following the Event Name. You can edit the new event from there.
- Enter the event details into the following fields:
- Event Name
- Self-explanatory.
- Event Type
- Select from the populated drop-down menu. (See "Add Event Types" for more information.)
- Calendar Color
- Select a color to be displayed on the event calendar and announcements within your AMO site.
- Event Location
- Enter the location for your event.
- Event Timezone
- Select from the drop-down menu.
- Start Date and End Date
- For single-day events, use the same date in both fields.
- Display Event
- This displays the event in the events area on your website. When left unchecked, the event will not be displayed.
- Registration Link Placement
- From the drop-down menu, select where on the event page you'd like registration links to appear.
Show Registration Button
Check this box to open the registration for the event. It's important to note that the activities associated with the event should be fully configured before opening registration.
Custom Registration Button Label
This changes the label of the registration button to custom text.
Display Member Login Reminder
Check this box if you would like to remind the members of the event once they log in.

This will be the text generated for the members to remind them that the event is happening.
- Event Name
Customize the Event Settings using the checkboxes.
This is an area to customize specific event settings.
- Set the Required Fields, which attendees must complete, by selecting field names and moving them with the arrow buttons.
- Select an Additional Attendee Registration Methodfrom the drop-down menu.
- Attendees will be prompted and charged accordingly when registering.

- Select an option from the Select Credit Card Processing Account drop-down menu.
- You can set your Primary Credit Card Account and Alternative Credit Card Account by going to Financial Information > Credit Card Settings.
- Check Billing Types boxes to determine the payment options for Administrative, Member, and Public attendees, respectively.
- Fill out the Event Content fields:
- Event Description
- Displayed before attendees reach the registration form. Include a basic overview of the event and any benefits to be noted.
- Event Confirmation Page Message
- Visible to attendees upon completing registration.
- Alternative Email Message For Receipt/Invoice
Enter a message for attendees to receive with their receipt/invoice following registration. If this field is left blank, the attendee will receive a general email.
- BCC Email Address(es) For Receipts/Invoices
- Enter one or more internal email addresses that should receive a copy of all registration receipts/invoices.
- Use commas to separate multiple email addresses in this field.
- Return Address
- To be displayed on all receipts and invoices.
- Internal Notes
- Notes about this event—not visible to non-admin attendees.
- Registration Page Javascript
- This is where custom javascript for the event page can be inserted.
- This is where custom javascript for the event page can be inserted.
- Select Update General Information to save changes.
A green confirmation message will appear at the top of the screen when changes have been successfully saved.
After an event has been created, set up event registration activity to ensure members can sign up and submit payment.
