Event Management: Getting Started
(We recommend reviewing "Event Management: General Overview" before proceeding below.)
Event Management Terms and Examples
Activity Types
Activity Types are various segments that would occur within an event. Examples include breakout sessions, demonstrations, keynote speeches, seminars, and workshops.
These distinctions indicate to registrants what type of event segments to expect before signing up, and provide organizers with information about whether activities are well-attended or less popular.
Attendee Status Types
Attendee Status Types assign labels to event-goers and provide attendance visibility to administrators after the event. Add Attendee Status Types before the event launches to keep track of the invitees throughout the event. Common attendee status types include "Checked In," "Registered," and "No Show."
For example, as attendees are checked into the event, their Attendee Status Type can be switched in the Check-In Dashboard (part of the Event Dashboard), from "Registered" to "Checked In."
Education Types
Education Types allow event organizers to categorize, manage, and track various educational activities. They allow for self-reported education credits to be granted to a member logged into the site, under My Event History.
Event Types
Event Types are used to classify and manage various events. This functionality allows organizers to tailor the management process to various event types' specific characteristics and requirements. An Event Type must be assigned to each event to allow the system to categorize events, allowing administrators to run reports on how various events are performing over time.
