Set Up Dues Notifications
Add a New Dues Notification
To add dues notifications, go to Dues Management > Dues Notification.
- Click the green "Add Record" icon at the top-left corner of the table; you will be brough to new page/form.
- Enter the Dues Notification Name.
- Enter the Days Offset.
- This tells AMO when to send the email. Enter the number of days before or after the member’s paid-thru date that the notification should go out (see next).
- Set the Occurrence.
- Select "Prior To Trigger Field" for before the renewal date; select "After Trigger Field" for following the renewal date.
- Set the Trigger Field.
- Select "Individual Paid Thru" if this is tied to the individual's paid-thru date; select "Organizational Paid Thru" if this is tied to the organization's paid-thru date.
- Select "Individual Paid Thru" if this is tied to the individual's paid-thru date; select "Organizational Paid Thru" if this is tied to the organization's paid-thru date.
- Check/uncheck Active.
- Check to send the email on the specified date; uncheck to keep the notification in “draft” mode and will not be sent.

- Check/uncheck Create Invoices, Create & Attach New Invoice PDFs, and Attach Last Unpaid Invoice PDFs.
- These boxes should only be checked on the first notification. This creates an individual or organization member dues invoice and attaches it as a PDF to the email. The invoice will then be added to the member's profile, where they can log in and pay.
- DO NOT check these boxes on the additional notifications, as it can confuse members and generate multiple invoices.
- Set the Dues Options for Invoice Payment.
- Typically, Based on Member Type, If Possible should be selected to ensure each member only sees their specific member fees, rather than including all membership levels on one invoice.

Configure Personal Email Notifications
Once the notification settings have been configured (see previous), craft an email message with each notification.
- Check/uncheck Send Email When Executed.
- If this box is checked, AMO will send a personal email message with the dues notification.
- Check/uncheck Create Communications Record, If Email is Sent.
- If this box is checked, this notification message will be noted in a member's Communication tab.
- Check/uncheck Suppress Top Banner For Email Messages.
- If this box is checked, the regular top banner image on notification emails will be omitted.
- Enter the Email From Address, From Email Name (optional), and Email Subject
- These will tell the recipient who the email is from and what it is regarding, as with any email.
- Configure your Email Contentusing the editor.
- ***To add personalization to the message, place your cursor where a personalized element is needed, then select the Merge drop-down menu and choose the desired element (first_name, last_name, org_name, etc.). The inserted shortcode will be replaced with the the corresponding details from the recipient's individual profile.

- Check/uncheck Append Username to Email Messages.
- Checking this box will add a member’s username to the email, which can help them rmember their login information.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Add Dues Notification to save your changes.
A green confirmation message will appear at the top of the screen when the change has been successfully saved. Repeat this process to configure as many notifications as needed.
